Ben Chapman has attended an event at Bebington High Sports College marking the official launch of it becoming a Foundation Trust School. This was an opportunity for the College to welcome its new co-operative partners and give thanks to those who have offered support during the transition process.
The partner organisations are: Barnardos, the Co-operative Movement, Merseyside Sports Partnership, Liverpool John Moores University and Tranmere Rovers Community Trust. They will work with Bebington High in a bid to ensure the highest levels of achievements and personal development for pupils. This is the first such partnership in Merseyside.
Mr Chapman, MP for Wirral South, also recently welcomed Headteacher, Brian
Jordan, to Westminster to Parliament for an event organised by the Co-operative Movement.
Mr Chapman commented: “Bebington High’s is a unique partnership encompassing close community contacts. Tranmere Rovers’ work in that context is very well regarded. I welcome this move for the school, which I hope will benefit both staff and students, helping to raise achievement. I support the link with the Co-Operative
movement, which I believe will create a productive and collaborative educational
environment.”
Headteacher Brian Jordan said: “This is a new and exciting era for Bebington High
Sports College. Working for our Trust ensures that the school is outward-looking and
our ethos is based on co-operative values and principles. The new partnership will
ensure our children not only achieve their academic potential but will grow up as
positive members of our society”.
