Wirral South MP, Ben Chapman, has visited Port Sunlight Garden Centre. Mr Chapman was keen to discuss the Garden Centre's plans for a children's 'Gardening Club' which will operate with the local primary school.
Coincidentally, the visit took place during 'Compost Awareness Week' which aims to encourage the public to reap the benefits of homemade compost.
Ben commented:
"The locally run Garden Centre is a great example of a business which provides a valuable service to the people of our community, whilst encouraging ways to improve our environment. Making compost in every garden would go some way to combating the increasing problem of landfill waste".
Garden Centre manager, Mark Scrott, said: "Gardening is a great activity for all ages; it promotes a healthy lifestyle and gets us back to nature".
